NEWS and COMMENT
NDPC 12 National Drill, Piping & Ceremonial Competitions - ARO's Message
Ladies & Gentlemen
Exemplary teamwork and commendable behaviours from all, ensured that the NW retained it's 4th place at the Drill and Ceremonial Competition, this despite SC and RMC armed teams improving by 2 places. The Colour Party slipped to 3rd place in a tight competition in which the top three were separated by only 3 points. The Piping Team, new to Nationals and being a little overawed by the presence of the Captain and the Chief Executive, gave a good account of themselves in the face of an experienced opposition. The performance of all has enhanced the reputation of the North West.
NFAS 12 National 5-A-Side - ARO's Message
NSR 11 National Sailing Regatta - AO's Message
Ladies and Gentlemen,
This years NSR at Waterside Lodge was a triumph and there are many people who deserve a great deal of thanks for making it so. I am well aware that as a National event the responsibility rests with the National organisers but it is in our Area and without everyone’s input and effort it could not take place as successfully as it did – and has done so for three years running now.
If I try and thank everyone individually I am bound to forget someone; but whether you were moving boats, putting up tents, cooking, cleaning up, recording, judging, supervising, supporting or protesting, your hard work was all worth it.
Special mention must of course go to the NW Sailing and Windsurfing Team of Staff and Cadets who represented our Area so well and came away with a commendable haul of prizes. This is the best result for many years and the end product of a great deal of hard work and dedication from all involved – thank you, it was great honour to present prizes and witness how well we did as an Area.
The NSR will be back in NW for 2012 and so let’s make it our aim to win the Navy League Cup!
