Unit Foreign Travel

Individual Units travelling abroad

 

Any individual Units wishing to travel abroad must seek permission from the International Co-ordinator at MSSCHQ at least 8 weeks in advance of their planned trip.

 

If a request for uniform is to be worn whilst abroad then the application MUST be received at least 8 weeks in advance of the trip.  MSSC have to request permission on behalf of the Unit for diplomatic clearance to wear uniform abroad and therefore sufficient time must be given.

 

The following information is required in order to request Diplomatic clearance:

 

Number of Cadets (male & female)

Number of Adults (male & female)

Reason for Travel

Method of travel

Departure Date

Return Date

Where the group will be staying whilst abroad

Point of contact abroad

Contact Telephone Number for use whilst travelling

                  A breif description detailling the purpose of the trip
 

Without this information, MSSCHQ will be unable to request diplomatic clearance.

 

On no account should a group apply for diplomatic clearance directly.  All Sea Cadet Groups travelling abroad MUST apply to MSSCHQ to arrange clearance.


Gibraltar Visits

 

Groups wishing to travel to Gibraltar may apply to MSSCHQ by letter to the International Co-ordinator requesting to visit Gibraltar for a summer camp.  The following details are required when applying to visit Gibraltar:

 

Number of Cadets (male & female)

Number of Adults (male & female)

Preferred Departure Date

Preferred Return Date

 

On receipt of this information, MSSCHQ will request permission from Gibraltar and if given will put the group in contact with Gibraltar direct.

 

Malta Visits

 

Groups wishing to visit Malta must apply directly to the OIC at Malta Unit by letter.  They must also inform MSSCHQ and Eastern Area of their request to travel to Malta.  The following details must be included:

Number of Cadets (male & female)

Number of Adults (male & female)

Preferred Departure Date

Preferred Return Date
