Safeguarding Policy Statement
The MSSC is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and young people (cadets) within the SCC, regardless of gender, religion, nationality or ethnic origin, ability, sexuality or class, and will take all reasonable steps to protect them from neglect, physical, sexual or emotional harm .
This Safeguarding Policy Statement sets out the MSSC commitment to promoting the welfare of its children and young people (cadets) within the SCC.
Sound Systems Accreditation
The MSSC, and its affiliated Sea Cadet Units, are accredited through the Sound Systems accreditation scheme, a quality mark issued by the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services to verify sound safeguarding practice. For details of the accreditation see Press Release
MSSC Designated Workers
The main burden of Safeguarding (Child Protection) within the SCC falls to those in direct contact with cadets - our adult volunteers. However Designated Workers are in place within Area Offices (and Sea Cadet Training Centres and Boating Stations) to ensure that guidance and advice is always available.
