The Co-operative Community Dividend Scheme
The Co-operative Community Dividend Scheme is run by the Co-operative Group and every Co-op Dividend cardholder has the option to donate the `odd pence’ from their twice yearly Dividend payments into the Scheme.
Voluntary, self help, co-operative and not for profit groups within the United Kingdom may apply for funding for grants up to a maximum of £5,000 and the Co-operative Group may also be able to help in other ways such as a raffle prize, Community Partner Card or publicising your group in store.
Community Dividend supports projects that:
- Fulfil a need in the local community
- Provide a long term benefit for a sector of the local community, either by provision of equipment, physical benefit to the group, or through training or education.
- Target disadvantaged groups or areas within the community.
- Seek to address community issues such as health, safety or poverty relief.
- Show imagination in its approach.
- If it is an environmental project, that it raises awareness of environmental issues or aims to improve the local environment whilst promoting community involvement.
