Sea Cadets Portal Getting WM ready for Portal Login CFAVs only
The Sea Cadets portal empowers cadets and gives them more information enabling them to engage more closely with the amazing opportunities that we offer. The information that is available to view in the Sea Cadets Portal comes from the data inputted in the Westminster. Let’s make sure cadets, CFAVs and NOK can access the platform smoothly.

Sea Cadets Portal - Navigating the Activities Page and Expression of Interest CFAVs only
The activities pages is an area on the Sea cadets Portal that shows over 175 courses that the Sea Cadets Corps currently offer to its cadets. It is full of information. The Activities pages contains colourful and informative pages that offer more detail about the specialised subjects on offer, including progression guidance through pathway suggestions and an insight to careers related to the specialised trade. Here Expressions of Interest can be given by cadets and sent to the unit in a weekly round up email, where Training Officers can start the process to book a cadet on course.
This spotlight is a short live online session to assist in helping you to understand Navigating the Activities Page on the Sea Cadets Portal so you can better relate where to find the information if a cadet has an interest in any are of training. Enabling cadets to get the best out of the pages to develop Sea Cadets Experience. It will also sign post you to where to get our readymade information to pass on to your CFAVs, cadets and next of kin in relation to using the Sea Cadets Portal. This session will also take you through how a cadet expresses an interest, the weekly round up email and how to adjust the cadets booking process status in the cadets achievements.

Sea Cadets Portal - How do I create a post/post event CFAVs only
General posts can come from different sources around the Sea Cadets which will keep cadets updated with information about the courses and events, locally and nationally. Keeping them well informed with events and activities that they can get involved in as they are published. Cadets will also get posts when they gain new badges, get qualifications and when they get promoted.
This spotlight is a short live online session to assist in helping you to understand how to post a message or advertise your weekly Orders, Ships routine to your cadets, CFAVS and NOK through the News Feeds section. You can gain some ideas for best practice with posting too. This session will also cover posting your unit events in the news feeds. It will also sign post you to where to get our readymade information to pass on to your CFAVs, cadets and next of kin in relation to using the Sea Cadets Portal.

The Sea Cadets Experience is a unique story for each and every one of our cadets. It is an individual’s pathway helping them to discover their real potential. The Sea Cadets Experience is our aspiration of the amount of activity each child should experience whilst being a sea cadet. The Sea Cadets Experience can be viewed by the cadets on their devises, through the Sea Cadets Portal.
This spotlight is a short live online session to assist in helping you to understand what your cadets view is in the Sea Cadets Experience section of the Sea Cadets Portal and how to make sure what cadets see is correct.

The Sea Cadets Portal - Attendance Assistance and Course Bookings CFAVs only
Here cadets and NOK will receive information about the status of their booking on a course or event. Cadets and NOK can get further information about the course through the documentation that is provided by the course director, such as joining instructions and a kit list. It offers a location of the activity through a link to google maps and allows both cadet and NOK to revisit the activity page to check course information. Course bookings allow NOK to consent to the activity and make payment. It also offers opportunity for bursary (if unit has ticked the bursary box) and resources of support for time off school.
This spotlight is a short live online session showing you how the cadets and NOK view their attendance assistance on the Sea Cadets Portal and how the information shown can help the unit save time in preparation for a cadets out of unit experience, and how NOK will handle consent and payments for their child's bookings.

The Sea Cadets & Volunteer Portal - For Course Directors CFAVs only
The information that Course Directors include in their course set up when creating their courses in Westminster can follow through and show in the Sea Cadets Portal and Volunteer Portal and can be of great benefit to the students on course. It will support the CFAV who views course details through the volunteer portal to make sure they are following the correct pathway of modules required to advance through promotion or develop in subject. It can also assist in unit saving time and money providing support material for the student pre course.
This spotlight is a short live online session to assist in helping you to understand good practice when creating a course. Discussions will be around attachments, modules and activity details view of CFAV, NOK and cadet through their respective portals.
