Welcome to the T&A page for our Westminster Award. If you require any information not available on these pages please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Cadet Vocational College Westminster Award is an annual competition designed to recognise and reward the most deserving of their learners.
Each year, cadet forces and youth group leaders are invited to nominate young people for something they’ve achieved by completing or registering for a BTEC Level 2 qualification. Additionally, nominations can now be endorsed by fellow cadets.
They want to hear about special characters who have truly made a difference to the lives of those around them. Please show how your nominee demonstrates selflessness, community spirit or altruism. Maybe they go out of their way to help a friend or family member, or actively assist their local community on a regular basis. Tie into Cadet Vocational College’s values (e.g. going the extra mile, caring and supportive) if you can. This is the ethos of the Westminster Award.
How to apply and eligibility
- Have completed Unit 1 of their Cadet Vocational College-led BTEC Level 2 qualification in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community.
- Age criteria: be born between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2008 (academic year).
- There can be one nomination per Unit (ASOs & DOs can also nominate).
An approximate schedule for the 2025 Westminster Award and how to nominate can be found here.
Nominations close on 31st December 2024.
As you progress through each stage of the Westminster Award, Cadet Vocational College will give you one of their prestigious badges. These are not worn on your SCC uniforms but can be worn on your civilian clothes or sewn on a backpack.
